My PhD Dissertation in Philosophy, entitled The Reasonable Effectiveness of Mathematics in the Natural Sciences, was defended on December 7th, 2012, under the supervision of Robert W. Batterman (Professor of philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh) and John L. Bell (Professor of philosophy at the University of Western Ontario).

Review of J.-P. Marquis' "From a Geometrical Point of View: A Study of the History and Philosophy of Category Theory"

Together with Molly Kao and John Bell, we have written a review of Jean-Pierre Marquis's beautiful book From a Geometrical Point of View: A study of the history and philosophy of category theory. We recommend it to everybody interested in the foundations of mathematics!

My MA Thesis in Philosophy, entitled The Frege-Hilbert Controversy on the Foundations of Geometry, was defended in Summer, 2006, under the supervision of Francois Tournier (Professor Emeritus of philosophy at Université Laval).

The Significance of the Kolmogorov-Gödel Embedding

This short paper was written after a presentation on the significance of one of Gödel's theorems on intuitionistic arithmetic at the Canadian Society of History and Philosophy of Maths in Vancouver, 2008.

  Office hours
